How to install mouse pointers

  1. Download and unpack the tails_cursors_by_springsts_d200obo.zip archive using 7zip;
  2. For Windows 10/11: Use the Win+I shortcut to open the "Settings" window. Or click "Start" and then the gear icon. Go to "Themes" and click on "Mouse Cursor".
  3. For Windows 7/8/8.1: Open the Control Panel, under "Hardware and Sound". There will be a "Mouse" link under "Devices and Printers".
  4. This will open the properties of the mouse. Go to the "Pointers" tab.
  5. If there is a *.inf file in the archive, right-click on it and select "Install" in the context menu. The scheme will automatically appear in the list of available and you only need to select it and then apply the changes.
  6. If there is no installer in the archive, you must manually set the cursor for each state. Click the "Browse" button and select the desired cursor. It is not necessary to select all of them. It will be enough to set "Main mode", "Background mode", "Busy" and a few more to your liking. When finished, click "Save As" to save the created scheme to the operating system's memory.
  7. Click "OK" to save your changes.
